This week was book week  and we did a lot of reading.I really enjoyed stop drop and read.Today was Friday and we had the book character day were you Have to dress up as a book character.I dressed up as Mila from the tinklers three, not many people knew her which was good because I was wearing a pink dress and pink shoes but she was wearing a red dress with red shoes but no one knew so that was good(but know people might know).

The man walked up the slope. He used poles. The sun was bright. The sky was blue. He looked forward to the view from the top.

Heavily breathing, a man hiked up Mount Everest and even though the sun was shinning brightly in the sky he was as cold as ice.The sky was a bright and vibrant blue the he stretched his neck up towards the top of the Mountain waiting to see that breathing taking view of being on the top of the world.

Cook island language week

Kia orana! this week is Cook island language week and we made tivaevae with room 6 for our buddy class. Tivaevae is like a blanket and how they make it is cool.They have one big blanket then they get heaps of other blankets and then they cut it out into shapes like leaves and flowers then they hand sow it on top to make a flower or any picture they want. We mad ours out of paper so first everyone got one piece of paper each then we folded it and cut some shapes out of it then we unfolded it and it made beautiful patterns then we all glued it onto one big piece of paper.

Film festival at the Civic theater

Today (1st of August) Kauri team went to the Civic theater in the city to watch 14 international short films.There were a lot of schools there but that was alright because the Civic theater is huge.I sat next to Deborah and Hamida (Jadarose's mum).The Civic theater is set up like a castle and on the ceiling it has stars and some of them were shooting stars.

This is the first short film we watched and it was about kids being the parents and the parents being kids and it was quite funny seeing the adults acting like kids and the children struggling with them.

This was my favorite because it was very detailed and funny
