My space art

Recently we have been doing some space art! Mills Mills showed us a tutorial on how to make this and it looked very easy and effective. We first made a stencil for the planets and moons then we put it over some black paper and then we started to colour it in. The next day Miss Mills bought out some chalk and told us to get some scrap paper to practice on.We had to draw a cross (or a circle) and spread it out so it looked like a star then after that we flicked some paint over it with a toothbrush and done.

Cross country!!

This morning we had cross country! I was really nervous about it but when we started running I was excited.We had to run out of school, past the dairy, down the first street, through the rugby clubs car park, then around the field, up the mountain or stairs, and then through the school car park and finally go across the finish line!

The hardest part in the course for me was probably going up the mountain.For the year six girls I'm pretty sure Emacyn came first Joyce second? and Alodia third. Also for the year five girls Deborah came first Neena came second and Oshani cam third and they are all in room 24 .

Ratios

For maths we have been learning about ratios.Ratios are like for example 6 dogs to 3 cats or 6:3.
One of the maths problems we did was about caterpillars and leaves.For example three small plants feed four caterpillars  how many small plants do you need to feed 20 caterpillars.Then you go 4:3 and then double four which is now 8:3 then double 3 and now its 8:6 and you keep on going. So it's kind of like comparing.

Here is my ratio art we had to record the colours we used and how many parts of it we used.                 
I really enjoyed doing this because I love mixing colours and I think it looks really good.
